Retreats
In September of 2022 Fr. William Campbell, S.J. was interviewed on the morning show of the Catholic Faith Network (Long Island, NY) about our retreat ministry. Click the link below for to learn more about our retreat house and our retreats. Click here |
Directed Retreats
Although differing in their duration, Directed Retreats are a privileged time for you to deepen your relationship with God. You will be assigned a trained spiritual director with whom you will meet briefly each day to discern the movements of God in your life as revealed through your prayer. Aside from these daily conversations and the time you set aside for your own personal prayer, your time is unstructured. The only group prayer offered is the daily Eucharistic liturgy. An atmosphere of silence is to be maintained in the house and on the grounds for the duration of the retreat.
Guided Retreats
Guided Retreats, of differing lengths and schedules, are most often organized around a specific theme. The retreat’s director will give suggestive input during group conferences to orient you and the other retreatants for how might spend your time in private prayer. Guided retreats typically include daily Mass. Depending on the retreat, there may also be a brief time for you to meet privately with the director and/or for the Sacrament of Reconciliation. An atmosphere of silence is typically to be maintained in the house and on the grounds for the duration of the retreat, although a given retreat may alter this expectation due to its theme.
Private Retreats
During a Private Retreat, a retreatant is invited to embrace the silence of Eastern Point while deepening his/her experience of God but without the assistance of individual spiritual direction. Private retreats must be scheduled when a retreat is already scheduled and are subject to availability. Private retreats follow the same protocol as directed retreats when it comes to availability and pricing.
Hosted retreats
Occasionally, Eastern Point makes the house and its grounds available to outside groups for their prayerful use. These retreats are often closed to the public and are not listed on our public schedule. Opportunities for such retreats are limited. Contact the office via phone at (978) 283-0013 or via email at [email protected].
Days of Prayer
Approximately every other month we host a day of prayer with a seasonal or liturgical theme. Dates for Days of Pray are listed below.

Our Retreat Arrangements - Useful Information
Arrival and Departure
Retreatants may gain access to their rooms after 2:00pm on the opening day of the retreat. There is no formal check-in procedure. Simply enter the retreat wing (far right side of the facility), find your room assignment (which will be posted in the lobby) and settle into your room. Additional information about your stay will be found in your room, including the time and location of a brief orientation meeting prior to dinner. Dinner is served at 6:00pm.
Unless otherwise noted, all "week" long retreats (8-day to 6-day retreats) typically end with Mass at 8:30am on the last day of the retreat and "shorter" retreats (5-day or shorter) typically end with Mass followed by lunch. We maintain a silent and smoke-free atmosphere and kindly ask all retreatants to respect this policy.
Room Requests
If you have a medical need requiring a special room accommodation, please indicate this on the retreat application form. Otherwise, please note that we do not take room request and cannot guarantee room placement.

The chef can accommodate the following 12 documented allergens. Eggs, Fish, Gluten, Milk, Mustard, Peanuts, Sesame, Shellfish, Soy, Sulfites, Tree nuts and Wheat. Also, vegetarian, vegan and pescatarian meals. If you have other dietary preferences, you are welcome to bring any food you may need/want for your time with us. We have a designated refrigerator for retreatants use only. Breakfast is served at 7:00 am, lunch at 12 noon, and dinner at 6:00 pm. Things You Might Bring
You are welcome to wear comfortable clothes during your retreat. If you are coming for a longer retreat, please note that washing machines, dryers and irons are available for your use. Comfortable walking shoes will help you enjoy the beautiful grounds. Bring sturdy shoes or boots if you enjoy hiking or the rocky ocean coast. There are many, many opportunities for walking here at the retreat house and in the vicinity. Bring your bicycle if you enjoy cycling. Our bathrooms are supplied with towels and soap. Any other items you will want/need should be brought with you such as your personal toiletries, hair dryers and medications. We have a small refrigerator where special medications or food you might wish to bring may be stored. Depending on the time of year, you may wish to bring a travel coffee mug, refillable water bottle, bug spray, and/or sun block.
Most of the rooms have a balcony with a fixed chair and small table. If you wish more flexibility, bring a light-weight folding chair, which is also useful in warmer weather on nearby beaches. We are equipped with WIFI and you are welcome to bring your laptop, iPad or other electronic device. In order to maintain the necessary silence, cell phones may be used only outside in your car, or at a distance from the retreat house. Please note that we are likely not able to accommodate requests for designated space to participate in virtual calls.
