Directed retreats are a privileged time to deepen one’s relationship with God. Each retreatant is assigned a trained spiritual director with whom to meet individually each day to talk about the retreatant’s experience of God in prayer. The director helps a retreatant to listen and respond to what God might be saying and then proposes material for one’s prayer in the day ahead.
Aside from these daily conversations and the time set aside for one’s own personal prayer, a retreatant’s time is unstructured. An opportunity for Mass is offered each retreat day, except on the day of arrival. An atmosphere of silence is maintained in the house, at meals, and on the grounds for the duration of the retreat.
An application is required to understand your unique interest and to match you with a spiritual director. While you may request a specific spiritual director, for a variety of reasons, we cannot guarantee that you will be assigned to the director you request. The more information you provide when you register, the better able we are to make a prayerful match for you and others who will be making the retreat alongside you.
